2008 TOIYABE
LEAGUE INFORMATION
as of 10.03.2007 – subject to change!
SCHEDULE
1.
The Season will begin April 1, 2008 and conclude on May 31, 2008
(tentative).
2.
If a mini-tournament can be organized (that’s a call for help!) it will
be held either on May 14 or another date. TBD
3.
The following summarizes key dates for general team scheduling purposes:
April 1 1st day of games
(tentative, pending Parks and Rec. approval).
April 19-20 Boys Comstock Shootout (no games)
April 26-27 Girl’s Comstock Shootout (no games)
May 24-26 Memorial Day Weekend & Davis, CA World Cup
Tournament
4.
Teams will normally play one game during the week and one on the
weekend. We will try to schedule a minimum of 12 games per team; this may
require a few games to be scheduled on Sundays. Some double headers may occur
on the weekends to accommodate teams from farther areas like Mammoth and Bishop
if participating. Weekday games will begin at 5:30 PM. Saturday games may
begin as early as 8:30 AM, with the last game commencing at 3:30 PM. Depending
upon the number of teams per division, we will attempt to schedule two games
against each team of equal age and ability (i.e. “A” vs. “A”, and “B” vs. “B”),
and one game against teams of lesser or higher ability (“A” vs. “B). Game
schedules will be available after March 1st and will be posted online
at
www.ToiyabeSoccer.org
5.
Schedule adjustments. No one has much fun winning (or losing) all of the
time. Consequently, our intent is to have the coaches in each division discuss
their schedules after the first two weeks of play and adjust them as needed. The
goal is to have appropriate competition and challenges for every team.
FEES
1. The league charges $35 per player listed on the roster. Checks should be
payable to AYSO Region 140 for all teams from other regions.
2. Fees will be used for fields, t-shirts, league awards, and training
TRAINING
One of the uses to which fees should be put is TRAINING for coaches and
players. Capital Soccer Club and AYSO Region 140 are in the process of arranging
coaches training with professional coaches. This training will be open to all
Toiyabe coaches from all regions! Please check the
www.aysocarsoncity.org web site
Calendar page for dates and times.
We would also like to have coaches get together as groups and suggest
training events for themselves and for their players. Bring forward some ideas
and let’s make them happen!
REFEREE TRAINING
The Regional referee course will be offered mid-March. We would like to know
whether weekday evenings or weekends are best for attendees. Please email the
league coordinator by February 8 with some straw poll of this, and we will then
post the date. The date should be posted to the AYSO Carson City web site (aysocarsoncity.org)
by February 15.
The assistant referee course will be offered mid-March as a module in the
Regional Referee course. |
