Edmonds fields is the top sports complex for soccer in Northern Nevada. Located at the south end of Carson City, the fields are easily accessed from Hwy. 395 through a number of streets and from Hwy. 50 thru Graves/Edmonds Dr. Plenty of parking is available and it has an overflow area directly to the east by the BMX track for additional parking.

The fields are used primarily by AYSO during the fall and by AYSO, High Desert, and GBYSL teams during the spring. The complex is also the home of the WNC Wild Cats Women's Soccer team and is used sporadically during the summer by the adult leagues run by the City.

Field Orientation:

All fields are oriented North-South with the exception of fields 7 and 9 during the fall season when the fields are oriented East-West.

Used By: AYSO, Capital Soccer Club, GBYSL, High Desert Recreational Spring League, and Carson City.

Fields Conditions:

The Fields are closed for the winter season after the first week of November and are reopened for the spring in April 1st. Irrigation is maintained and started by the city to insure fields are ready for the spring and fall seasons.

The south end of the complex is dedicated for fields 7 thru 10 and the north side for fields 1 thru 6.

Mowing of the grass is on the tall side for the south fields where fields 7 and 9 tend to have slightly longer grass and play a little slower than 8 and 10 but field 7 is by far the slowest field in the complex. (Field 7 is typically used for the U12 and U14 divisions at 11v11), (Fields 8 and 10 are used for 9v9 play which is typically at the U10 and U12 divisions.

The north fields tend to be harder and dryer and are as a whole a lot faster than the south fields. Field 4 has the goal areas directly by the goals resurfaced with artificial turf installed in the summer of 2006. Fields 4 & 5 are used for divisions U14 and up as well as Field 1 which gets the use of the U19, the Wild Cats and the Adult league during the summer and is typically the field that wears out the most.

Fields 6 and 3 are the smaller year round fields with the capacity for field 6 to be enlarged for Tournaments. Field 3 is the only field in the complex with an slight pitch downhill of about <1% from South to North and it is only noticeable from one end to the other side of the field.

Weather conditions vary from week to week but follow a direct pattern with the season. The only constant throughout the year is the westerly winds that can typically be a nuisance for expectators and their tents or umbrellas.

Play in April can some times mean playing in 1 to 2 inches of snow the first couple of weeks but it can also be in perfect weather with no cold and sunny skies.

Goals are portable in all fields now and nets are replaced constantly by AYSO and Capital Soccer Club as needed.
