WNC Wild Cats fall to
Salt
Lake
Community College by a score of 1-0. In a game played at the Edmonds Sports Complex Saturday afternoon. The Wild Cats showed poise and resolve to go on the attack in the first minutes of the match.
Possibly the best chance of scoring came around the 10th minute when one of the Wild Cats forwards was ahead of the defender and in front of the goal keeper with a clear shot. However, her shot went straight to the keeper who saved the ball with the rebound falling at the feet of Ashley Winter. Ashley took the best shot of the match on an open net but banged the ball on the cross bar. After this play several other opportunities developed but nothing too serious.
Salt
Lake regrouped and went after the Cats scoring at the 31st minute of the first half. The second half started with the score 1-0 in favor of
Salt
Lake with
Salt
Lake putting a lot of pressure on WNC.
Try as they may, the Wild Cats were not able to overcome the score on what was their first conference game.
The Wild Cats next game is at Edmonds Sports Complex Field 1 on September 22 at 12 noon vs.
Shasta
College. Followed by a game on Sunday in
Quincy vs
