Mission Statement
The mission of the Great Basin Youth Soccer League (GBYSL) is to provide instructional, recreational and competitive youth soccer opportunities for all young athletes that enhance character, community and love of the game of soccer. Integrated in this is the building of self-esteem, self-confidence, team work, respect for self and others, and all the inherent benefits of youth sports.

GBYSL "For The Good Of The Game"

This fall GBYSL season there have been a few matches where some teams have outscored opponents by more than 10 goals in a match. This has caused some concern on the GBYSL board of directors and they are now proactively addressing this issue as one of the most common signs of poor sportsmanship.

Correction, Extreme vs Elements Game

On an article published on September 10 2007 "Extreme 13-1 over Elements." we reported the following statement; "At this level, unlike other recreational leagues, "pulling back" or going easy vs. a less skilled opponent, could cost a winning team in a way of goal differential or confidence on their play."

On Friday night at the Pinion Hills field, off of Stephanie Ln. in the Minden
Johnson Ln. area, the Extreme defeated the elements by a-no-doubt score of 13 to 1.
